HBO has premiered a new trailer for the upcoming fourth and final season of its acclaimed dark comedy “Barry”. The series returns for one final run on the cabler on April 16th.
The eight-episode season picks up after the end of the third season with Barry (Bill Hader) now in prison and his story coming to an end. Cousineau (Henry Winkler) is hailed as a hero as Barry’s arrest has shocking consequences.
Turns out Barry doesn’t take to prison well as he appears to be losing his mind in the trailer.
In a brief statement released by the network the other week, the show’s star, writer, co-creator, and director Hader says: “Its been an amazing journey making this show, and it’s bittersweet that the story has come to its natural conclusion.”
The series follows a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest, who suddenly finds himself invested into acting when he discovers an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.
Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan also co-star. The show has become one of HBO’s most acclaimed series of the past five years with the first three seasons earning nine Primetime Emmy wins.
