They gathered data on over 500 hundred searches using the keywords ‘release date’ and ‘2025’ and ranked the top-performing movies by how many people had searched for them over the past year.

Scheduled to release on July 25th, 2025, Fantastic Four: First Steps is the long-awaited movie reboot of the famous comic book foursome. Starring big Hollywood names like Pedro Pascal and John Malkovich, the film will be set in an alternate ‘retro-future’ version of the 1960s. Fans and studios are hoping this film will be far more successful than the last movie version of the Fantastic Four, which was released to general criticism in 2015.
Snow White (110,000 searches)
This latest live-action remake of a Disney classic is drawing a lot of anticipation from viewers despite the social media firestorm that’s surrounded it. Set to release on March 21st, Snow White has drawn criticism for not hiring actors with dwarfism to play Snow White’s seven dwarf friends, instead relying on CGI that critics have dubbed ‘creepy.’ Despite this, it seems many will be hitting the cinema to see this classic reimagined in live-action.
Cars 4 (63,000 searches)
While no trailer, release date, or even plot summary exists for this movie, there have been persistent rumors that another Cars sequel is in the works. Given the unexpected success of the third movie in the franchise, which was praised as having more emotional depth than its predecessors, making a fourth installment to this lightning-fast series seems only appropriate.
Blade (102,000 searches)
It’s worth noting that Marvel’s Blade reboot, originally slated for a November 25th release, garnered an impressive 102,000 searches, which would have put it in second place on the list. However, the highly-anticipated movie about the infamous vampire-slaying antihero was excluded from the top 10 after being recently pulled from its planned 2025 release schedule.

Stranger Things Season 5 (236,000 searches)
Fans have been rabidly awaiting the new season of the hit sci-fi show Stranger Things since the end of season four. Unfortunately, a prospective 2024 release date had to be pushed back after various Hollywood strikes. However, Netflix has confirmed that filming for the new season has wrapped, and it will be arriving in 2025!
Cobra Kai Season 6 Part III (100,000 searches)
Part three of Cobra Kai’s sixth season will be the final end for the much-loved series, though not for the Karate Kid franchise as a whole. Set to air on February 13th, the third part of the season will wrap up all loose ends and plot threads for a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to Johnny and Daniel’s story.
Demon Slayer Season 5 (79,000 searches)
With the series being split into different seasons on different platforms and featuring several theatrical releases and compilation movies, it’s hard to tell which season of Demon Slayer we’re actually on. Using the numbering scheme of the anime’s studio, Ufotable, however, season four just aired in summer 2024, so fans are now eagerly awaiting season five.
There are suggestions the next arc of the manga will be adapted into a trilogy of movies, but given previous Demon Slayer movies have been later re-cut into an episodic format, it seems there will be a plethora of ways for avid fans to watch the adaption of the manga’s final arcs.

After 12 years in which its predecessor became the second best-selling video game of all time, the Grand Theft Auto series is finally set to return in 2025. Hype for this new game, which features a Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired couple going on a crime spree in Vice City, has already hit fever pitch. According to the Financial Times, the game could rake in over $3 billion in the first years of sales alone.
Fallout 5 (58,000 searches)
Although nothing concrete has been announced about the next installment in the Fallout series yet, the studio, Bethesda, has confirmed the game will happen. However, they’ve also said that they’re planning to finish the Elder Scrolls 6, the sequel to the legendary hit game Skyrim, first. As that likely won’t be released until 2026 at the earliest, insiders are predicting a possible Fallout 5 release date of 2030. Luckily, Amazon has confirmed that season two of the TV show has started filming, so fans will have something to tide them over!
Monster Hunter Wilds (48,000 searches)
A sequel to the widely popular game Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter: Wilds is set to increase the realism of the Monster Hunter game world. Developers Capcom have aimed to create an ecosystem that feels alive and real within the game, which player choices can affect. Methodology
Using keywords like ‘release date’ and ‘2025,’ GameTop gathered data on over 500 searches, including video games, movies, and series/shows. They then segregated the searches by whether they were about to be released in 2025 or had not yet been released. They also gathered data on their monthly average search volumes to determine which titles were the most eagerly anticipated.
The global search volume and search data were taken from Ahrefs.com, and ranked according to the highest search volume. Global search volume shows the average monthly search volume over the previous year, from January 2024 until 13th December 2024.
