AMC has premiered the trailer for the eighth and final season of the prequel spin-off series “Fear the Walking Dead”.
Promoting the final season run at WonderCon today, the show’s cast and crew confirmed that the series will include a seven-year time jump – not that unusual as the mothership show saw a similar multi-year jump across its ninth season.
The new season begins as Morgan (Lennie James) and Madison’s (Kim Dickens) hopes to rescue Mo from PADRE did not go as planned. Now, Morgan, Madison and the others they brought to the island are living under PADRE’s cynical rule.
With the characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — Morgan’s daughter, Mo.
Also starring are Colman Domingo as Victor Strand, Danay Garcia as Luciana Galvez, Austin Amelio as Dwight, Christine Evangelista as Sherry, Karen David as Grace Mukherjee, Jenna Elfman as June, and Rubén Blades as Daniel Salazar.
The eighth and final season will roll out in two six-episode parts, the first of which begins May 14th on AMC and AMC+ with the second batch airing later this year.
